HIPAA Privacy Notice
It is the nature of our in-depth integrations to have exposure to a hospital's or health system's "Protected Health Information," sometimes also called "Patient Health Information" (PHI). PHI includes personal information of a demographic and medical nature about a patient that could identify that patient directly or indirectly. There are 18 distinct data elements of PHI—and we properly handle and protect every one. We recognize that this type, and all forms of non-public information ("Proprietary Information") are unique assets of organizations.
Pursuant to the Privacy Final Rules of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 ("HIPAA Privacy Final Rules"), RelWare executes a Business Associate Agreement as part of our engagement with each customer. RelWare's obligations under the HIPAA Privacy Final Rules relating to the use, confidentiality, disclosure, maintenance, and return or destruction of PHI are stated within each Business Associate Agreement. RelWare will treat PHI and all Proprietary Information with the same degree and care it treats its own comparable information and will not voluntarily disclose this information to third-parties without the express authorization of our customers or as required by law. RelWare will not divulge, disclose, or communicate in any manner any Proprietary Information to any third-party without the prior written consent of the customer. RelWare will protect all Proprietary Information and treat it as strictly confidential. RelWare will abide by the privacy and security regulations promulgated under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996.
